2. Kandy

Kandy is considered as a sacred place in Sri Lanka as the "Dalada Maligawa", the temple where the sacred tooth relic of the Lord Buddha is placed. This temple is considered as one of the holiest shrines by the Buddhists in Sri Lanka.  

Among the misty hills and dense forests, the city is in the central province of Sri Lanka, approximately 115KM away from Colombo. Kandy has been declared as a world heritage site by UNESCO.

3. Dambulla:

For the newlyweds it’s important to know about the history of your better half. So, why not learn some history about Dambulla, a treasure trove of historical places, in Sri Lanka. Dambulla is situated in the north of Matale district, Central province of Sri Lanka. The town holds historical monuments of ancient times, which are worth visiting. 


The centre of attraction is the Dambulla cave temple, the largest and best-preserved cave temple in Sri Lanka, where you can see stunning sculptures and paintings carved all over on massive rocks. 4.Galle: 

Galle is also a place in Sri Lanka, which has been declared as a world heritage site by UNESCO. The historic city is well known as a fortified city built by the Portuguese in the Indian sub-continent. The fortress was later extended by the Dutch with colonial buildings, ancient mosques, churches, grand mansions. The city is only 1hr away from Colombo and is accessible through the expressway. Hence it has been very popular lately.

5. Anuradhapura:

Anuradhapura is where the first ever kingdom in Sri Lanka was established. As such, it is one of the ancient capitals of Sri Lanka. Lying in the north central province this place in Sri Lanka is famous for its well-preserved ruins of ancient Sinhalese civilisation. The sprawling complexes, towering stupas, magnificent stone cut pools and crumbling temples.
